What's On at The Grahamstown Bar & Diner.
There's always something to do in Thames, gateway to the Coromandel. Of course, if you're in the mood for relaxing, the Junction has you covered. To drop in for a quiet brew with the locals, visit The Local Pub - just downstairs at the Junction. There's pool, darts, and gaming and the Junction has free Wi-Fi, should you be up for some internet-surfing. If you're feeling more like real surfing - or just beaching it - some fantastic beaches are only minutes away.
Outside the hotel, there's golf courses, perfect beaches, and some of the Coromandel's most spectacular nature walks. The stunning Kauaeranga Valley in the Coromandel Forest Park is just 20 minutes away, and your hosts at the Junction will be happy to drop you off and pick you up if you're keen to explore one of the Valley's 22 different tracks. At nearby beaches, the ocean is your oyster - fishing, swimming, barbeques, surfcasting are all within easy reach. Don't forget the charter fishing trips that leave daily, and come back with some serious fish.
Your hosts The Junction are members of Transition Town Thames, and their website is a great place to check out local events. You'll soon be spoilt for choice. We've compiled a few of our own
favourite things to do in Thames too.
